Closed Small Business Owners Suing the State

A group of small businesses is suing the state of Minnesota, claiming Governor Walz’ shelter in place and related executive orders are unconstitutional. The businesses say that just like their larger competitors, they should be allowed to stay open and operate within state and federal guidelines for mitigating the spread of Covid-19.

The governor is outside his legitimate powers by picking winners and losers in the economic morass brought about in reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, so the plaintiffs are asserting their right to safely open their businesses.

For the state to suspend some, but not all economic activity for an arbitrary and indefinite period of time is unprecedented, and unconstitutional.

The heart of the case will be that the governor’s executive orders affecting small businesses are not narrowly tailored to achieve a specific, justifiable state purpose and that there is no rational basis or process to allow some businesses to operate while denying others.

I miss my Alibi restaurant with no definite date to reopen

  • I say up yours Gov. if I want to open to sell products to the general public I will. The State can either get Tax money from me or pay my Mortgage from now on.

Walz continues to speak false numbers to us daily. We have seen the letter that went out to doctors pushing them to put the cause of death as Covid19 even if it has not been proven. He continues to have us wear masks that hurt peoples immunity to such viruses. He is nothing but a minion for the deep state and the elites that want to turn us into slaves and take away our rights. He is in violation of his oath of office and should be removed.
    The new coronavirus is real.
The response to the coronavirus is hyped. And in time, this hype will be revealed as politically hoaxed.
COVID-19 will go down as one of the political world’s biggest, most shamefully overblown, overhyped, overly and irrationally inflated and outright deceptively flawed responses to a health matter in American history, one that was carried largely on the lips of medical professionals who have no business running a national economy or government.

The governor is taking a blanket state numbers of Covid 19 instead of looking at rural areas or counties that have minimal amount of infected but he refuses to allow salons to reopen. No matter that our salon has individual rooms, that we are willing to wear masks, gloves, test people’s and stylists temperatures , sanitize. We can social distance better that the large stores where half of the people don’t we’re masks or wear them improperly. Plus, if any of our clients ( older or health compromised) feel that they need to still shelter in place, they don’t have to come, they can wait till they feel safe. But let us go to work and let people reside if they want to make an appointment.

Walz is a liar, his numbers are false. Not everyone who died died from Covid. Death certificates state Covid as cause because the hospitals get more money. Its all BS, I know someone whose hisband passed away from a heart attack. When the wife received the death certificate it stated his cause of death was Covid, she went in to have it changed and was told she can have it changed after the election….WTF
