Minnesota Voters Alliance at the Minnesota Supreme Court

Supreme Court Case Followed by Special Event!

The Minnesota Supreme Court will hear oral arguments this week in the Minnesota Voters Alliance (MVA) lawsuit against Governor Walz over issuing an unlawful writ of special election for MN House District 40B.

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 10 am in courtroom
300 of the Judicial Center located at 25 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.,
Saint Paul, MN 55155. THE HEARING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. A livestream will be available here Wednesday morning.

The Minnesota Republican Party and two House District 40B residents are also plaintiffs in the case. The petition argues Gov. Walz failed to follow the law in his haste to expedite a special election. On Monday, the Upper Midwest Law Center, the MVA, and the Minnesota GOP held a press conference at the State Capitol to discuss the case. Watch the full press conference here.

For those wishing to attend the hearing at the Judicial Center, the MVA will host a special luncheon following the hearing to feature attorneys James Dickey and Ryan Wilson, representing the MVA and MNGOP respectively, as well as state legislators Senator Mark Koran and Representative Walter Hudson, who will address the significance of the lawsuit to 2025 State Legislature and the state of Minnesota at large.

We are deeply grateful to our friends and members who provide support for the critical work of the MVA. Your generosity and continuing commitment are vital to everything we do and all that we accomplish!
